What the Labels Mean
"CEnT-S accepted"
Means this programme accepts CEnT-S for the applicant status listed. Whether it is mandatory or an alternative option is shown separately with a "Mandatory" / "Alternative" badge — this is never assumed to apply to every programme.
"SAT accepted"
Means this programme accepts SAT for the applicant status listed. If a score is mentioned, whether it is an official minimum or ranking/observed data is shown alongside it.
Restricted Access
A programme with a limited number of places, where admission is decided by ranking or against a minimum threshold. Passing the test alone is not itself a guarantee of admission.
Open Access / OFA
A programme with open enrolment. In these records, CEnT-S/OFA assessment does not determine admission — it identifies knowledge gaps (an Additional Learning Requirement). "OFA" does not mean rejection.
For Students Applying From Outside the EU
A student who needs a visa and is applying from outside the EU will usually be looking at the Non-EU – Residing Abroad (Visa Applicant) records on this page.
This isn't an automatic rule: which status applies to a given applicant depends on citizenship and residence. An applicant who already resides in Italy, or who holds EU citizenship or an equated status, may fall under a different category. This page does not determine your status for you.

For some programmes in this database, CEnT-S and SAT are accepted as alternatives to one another — but this is not true for every programme. Some accept only CEnT-S, some only SAT, and some accept either — which one applies is shown per programme through the "Admission test" filter above.

How Should You Evaluate Italian Universities Accepting CEnT-S?
A university "accepting" CEnT-S isn't itself a ranking or preference signal. Within the same university, one programme can require CEnT-S while another doesn't use it at all — so evaluation should start from the specific programme you're targeting. Narrowing the filters above by programme and applicant status first, then reading that record's specific rule (mandatory or alternative, which sections count), is the most reliable approach.

Even at a university that accepts SAT, score requirements can differ from programme to programme, and even between applicant statuses at the same university. Score information on this page is always shown together with its kind (official minimum, ranked admission, or an observed score range) — an observed figure is never presented as an official minimum score.

Which CEnT-S Sections Do Universities Use?
CEnT-S's five sections (Mathematics, Reasoning on Texts and Data, Biology, Chemistry, Physics) are not used identically across programmes. Some programmes count all five; others count only Mathematics and Reasoning, or a combination that excludes Biology and/or Chemistry. If a university accepts CEnT-S, does that apply to all of its programmes?
No. Acceptance is decided at the programme level — within the same university, one programme may accept CEnT-S while another doesn't use it at all.

What is OFA — does it mean I wasn't admitted?
